NewJeans has issued a statement addressing ADOR’s latest lawsuit, which aimed to validate the validity of the group’s exclusive contract under the company.
Ever since NewJeans announced the termination of the group’s contract with ADOR, the agency has taken legal measures to mediate and resolve issues brewing with the group.
On December 6, NewJeans stated that ADOR’s previous claims of the contract being exempted from termination until the company regains support and investments weren’t true. NewJeans went on to say that the group has already returned sufficient profits to ADOR and HYBE.
The group claimed that HYBE has tried to engage in numerous defaming tactics that can taint the group’s image and value. These actions were allegedly allowed by ADOR, causing the quintet’s distrust of their former company.
“As stated by a clause in the exclusive contract, we have the right to terminate if ADOR fails to fulfill its obligations. The agency forcing us to work for another five years despite its contract breaches is unreasonable and inhumane.”
The members revealed that despite terminating their contracts, they have chosen to fulfill their remaining activities with ADOR. However, they also shared how their managers and directors assisting them in these endeavors were being harassed, claiming their laptops had been confiscated by ADOR and HYBE.
They furthered, “We deeply regret that ADOR has resorted to filing a lawsuit after consistently making excuses. But we hope that in the legal procedures, the reasons for our contract’s termination and ADOR’s violations will be disclosed.”
