Park Sung Woong (The Killing VoteBloodhoundsSnowdrop) is set to engage in an intense face-off with Lee Joon Hyuk in the upcoming TVING series Dong Jae, the Good or the Bastard.

On September 27, the production team of Dong Jae, the Good or the Bastard released stills featuring Park Sung Woong as Nam Wan Seong, the CEO of Ehong Construction.

Dong Jae, the Good or the Bastard tells the story of prosecutor Seo Dong Jae (Lee Joon Hyuk), who wants to move on from his dark past as a sponsor prosecutor and build a reputation in the present. The series promises exciting tension as Seo Dong Jae engages in a relentless mud-slinging battle with Nam Wan Seong (Park Sung Woong), the CEO of Lee Hong Construction, who is determined to bring up past mistakes Dong Jae would rather forget.

Nam Wan Seong is a man who hides a knife behind his smile and uses cunning tactics to trick his opponents. His sharp gaze, as if he sees through every situation, adds to his commanding presence.

Regarding his decision to join the project, Park Sung Woong shared, “I enjoyed watching Stranger. There was no reason not to join such a fascinating work. Nam Wan Seong is also an interesting character, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be part of a great project and play such a compelling role.” He added, “I’m grateful to join the spin-off of a show that received so much love. Since my character is new, I worked hard to make sure fans of Stranger would naturally accept him. Please look forward to it.”

Park Sung Woong described his character Nam Wan Seong as “a man who achieves what he wants, no matter what.” He continued, “He’s like more ‘evil’ than ‘good’, but throughout the unfolding events, various emotions of Nam Wan Seong are revealed. I studied a lot while acting to perfectly show this aspect.” He also teased, “Although the cases being addressed are serious, the way Seo Dong Jae and Nam Wan Seong solve them is not portrayed in a heavy manner. You’ll definitely notice the difference when you watch the show, so please look forward to it.”

Dong Jae, the Good or the Bastard will be released on October 10. The K-drama will be available to stream on Paramount+.
