“Rainbow to Heaven” Appears Over Jeju Air Plane Crash’s Site, Netizens Driven to Tears

On December 31st, a netizen, A, posted a video about a minute long on their social media, stating that a rainbow path to heaven has opened in the sky near Muan Airport (where the tragic Jeju Air plane crash occurred).

In the video, A is driving down a road, capturing a beam of light piercing through the clouds vertically in the direction of Muan Airport. The rainbow’s vivid colors were visible even from afar.

According to A, they witnessed this scene around 4:40 PM (KST) the previous day while traveling from Naju to Wando, Jeollanam-do.

“I thought it was unusual when I saw the vertical rainbow in the sky. It was so beautiful that I stared at it in awe before realizing it pointed in the direction of Muan Airport and decided to film it,” they said.

A added, “I wondered if the victims of the sudden tragedy were ascending to the sky. The rainbow was so vivid and beautiful, but it’s a shame the video doesn’t fully capture it.”

They continued, “It’s still hard to believe this tragic reality. I hope the bereaved families find some comfort seeing that rainbow. I pray that the victims rest in peace in a better place”.

Upon watching the video, netizens responded with comments such as:

  • I teared up watching the video. I hope they rest peacefully as they travel on that beautiful rainbow path.
  • It seems like they’re heading to the sky following the rainbow.
  • I hope the remaining families find great comfort.
  • The path was opened for the deceased to rest in peace in the sky. It really breaks my heart.
  • I also saw a rainbow near Muan yesterday. It feels like it’s a message to the remaining family members that everything will be okay. It’s so heartbreaking.

On the other hand, on the morning of December 29, at approximately 9:07 AM, a plane of Jeju Air carrying 181 people from Bangkok crashed while attempting to land at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province, South Korea, resulting in numerous casualties.
