The Judge from Hell Episode 3 Recap
The episode opens with a look into Da-on’s childhood when he witnessed his parents lying dead in his house and saw the murderer walk out with his weapon. However, as a child, his words were not considered evidence when authorities dealt with the case and ignored his words. This left him with an unforgettable trauma that haunts him even today.
Presently, Bit-na is seen stabbing Da-on and is about to stamp him with Gehenna when Bael arrives and stops her. He tells her that she has made a wrong judgment and will now have to send 20 criminals to hell instead of the original 10. Bit-na is shocked but has no option but to accept it. Meanwhile, Da-on is brought back to life and is shocked by what has happened.
He takes Bit-na into custody for trying to kill him but no one believes him as there is no evidence for the same. Bit-na soon walks out of there and tells Man-do about what has happened. While the two get some food, another employee of hell finds her and mistakes her for the original Bit-na who ran away from hell.

Upon finding out that it is Justitia in Bit-na’s body, she is shocked to see her idol in front of her and promises to help her complete her mission. Elsewhere, the assemblyman finds out that Bit-na lives in the villa which is a problem for his son’s recent project, and thinks about ways to get Bit-na into their side.
Meanwhile, Da-on goes to a psychiatrist who diagnoses him with delusional disorder after which he comes across Bit-na who first mocks him and then reveals the truth. She tells him that she is a demon and that she killed him by mistake which is why he was brought back to life. Bit-na warns him to stay away from her or else she will kill him again; thus, leaving from there.
On the other hand, a family of three is driving back home when suddenly the mother who is driving goes off-road and into a water body. She manages to escape along with the child but the father is left in the backseat, unable to unbuckle the seat belt. Soon, he drowns in the car while the woman screams for help on the road.
On the day of the man’s funeral, the woman- Bae Ja-yeong, is being beaten up by her mother-in-law who blames her for her son’s death and wishes to take back her grandson with her. However, Ja-yeong is adamant about keeping the child, even though she is his stepmother, and doesn’t want to part with him.
The scene changes to the courtroom where Ja-yeong has sued her mother-in-law for kidnapping her child and wishes to get her child back. However, the mother-in-law’s aggressive behavior in court is already weakening her side. Bit-na orders the mother-in-law to be taken away when she sees her approach Ja-yeong and blames her for being greedy and leading two of her husbands to death.
This catches Bit-na’s attention as she begins looking into the case from a different approach. However, she soon finds herself surrounded by Da-on’s annoying presence while she is investigating. Upon approaching Ja-yeong, she finds out that her mother-in-law abandoned her son and connected with him after 30 years only for money.
The next day, Bit-na and Da-on go to visit the old woman who is angered by the accusations of abandoning her son. She tells Bit-na that her grandchild is not at home and takes them to check, but her lie is soon caught when Bit-na finds the child hidden in the wardrobe. Bit-na then asks the woman if she has any evidence against Ja-yeong that she is unable to present in court.
The woman confirms this and tells her how she saw Ja-yeong cheating on her son on the day of his funeral. She also saw how she treated her grandson carelessly and even abused him subtly. Bit-na is unsure about these things and approaches the boy who proves Ja-yeong’s abuse through his drawings.
Bit-na finds out that the boy witnesses how Ja-yeong glued his father’s seatbelt with water-soluble glue and even closed the sunroof after reaching the shore on the day of the incident. She deliberately murdered his father and even warned him to not reveal anything or else she would kill his grandmother.

Unintentionally, she ends up healing something within him as his tears begin to flow while Bit-na too feels something move within her, seeing his tears.
On the day of the verdict, she suspends the old woman’s sentence but is unable to do anything about the child’s custody. However, the woman is not ready to let go of her grandchild, unaware of the danger Ja-yeong is. Later, Ja-yeong succeeds in taking the child back and is ready to punish him.
