Yoo Ah In’s Luxe Home Which Got Popular After His ‘I Live Alone’ Was Sold at Deep Discount Amid Drug Trial Turmoil

Actor Yoo Ah In is said to have sold his luxury home in Itaewon for ₩6.30 billion KRW ($4.51 million USD), which is ₩1.70 billion KRW ($1.21 million USD) lower than its initial listing price of ₩8.00 billion KRW ($5.73 million USD).

According to Xports News, the sale, which took place in October, comes amid the actor’s legal issues stemming from alleged habitual drug use.

Yoo’s house was on sale for three years prior to being sold, reports Biz Hankook. The discount on cost is an indication of the need to sell every bit of media attention he is receiving due to the trial he is undergoing.

The home became well-known after appearing on the MBC program I Live Alone in 2020, shortly before Yoo moved to Hannam-dong.

More serious accusations of Yoo’s habitual drug use subsequently arose, resulting in a recent conviction against him. He was sentenced to a year behind bars but acquitted of some counts — including one for evidence tampering — for lack of proof.

Those compliance issues also complicated the property sale. Seven years ago, Yoo expanded the ground floor by an illegal 10.8 square meters, resulting in a citation from local authorities.

Yoo’s attorneys, who said the man’s father died just before the sentencing, are asking for leniency. His case is slated for its next hearing later this month.
