Yoo Jae-suk Moved to Tears by “Dreaming Harmony” Choir’s Heartwarming Performance

On the November 13 episode of tvN’s variety show “You Quiz on the Block” (episode 269), the “Dreaming Harmony” choir members and teachers from Bakdal Elementary School in Anyang appeared as guests.

“Dreaming Harmony” gained attention after a video of them singing a reworked version of “Sunset” for a friend transferring schools went viral in the news. Yoo Jae-suk asked, “When the friend who was transferring cried so much, what did you say to them?” to which the choir leader, student Kim Ye-jin, replied, “I told them to always live confidently. My mom always says that.” She added, “Living confidently means doing your own thing no matter what others say,” which brought laughter.

Sixth grader Lee Eun-seo, who is the soprano section leader, shared that she had once considered not moving due to her love for the choir. She explained, “Competing in contests is a unique experience, and other places don’t have a choir. When we sing together, it boosts my confidence, and I do better. I wanted to stay with my friends, so I decided not to move.”

Yoo Jae-suk then asked, “So, did you not move? Are your parents still there?” Eun-seo revealed, “I live with my grandmother now,” surprising everyone. She added, “I didn’t want to leave because of the choir.” When asked about her parents’ reaction, she said, “At first, they suggested I go with them, but they ended up going without me.”

Eun-seo’s parents are both in the military. She confessed, “Honestly, it’s lonely sometimes, but it’s fun,” showing her affection for the choir, which warmed everyone’s hearts.

Afterward, “Dreaming Harmony” performed “Blue Whale” with their pure voices, and both the production team and Yoo Jae-suk were seen wiping away tears. After hearing “Everything Will Be Fine,” Yoo Jae-suk said, “It’s so moving. The production team is also emotional. We all probably feel the same. Listening to the choir members’ songs was so comforting.”

He continued, “After watching the video, I’m teary again. There’s no heartwarming news these days. It’s bitter, and you often wonder why things are like this. But listening to their pure voices brought me deep emotion and left a lasting impression.”
