Yulhee and Choi Minhwan’s Hellish Divorce Story Unveiled “Yulhee Leaving Home Worsened Their Relationship”

A video titled “Shocking Exclusive! Why Child Support? The Hellish Divorce Story of Yulhee and Choi Minhwan” was uploaded to Lee Jin-ho’s YouTube channel “Entertainment President Lee Jin-ho” on October 23rd.

Lee Jin-ho pointed to differences in their daily routines and views on education as the main reasons for their divorce. Yulhee, as she had mentioned in a past couple counseling show, had a strong passion for education, investing as much as 8 million won a month in educational expenses. However, she struggled with waking up early and found it difficult to care for their children. Choi Minhwan was mainly responsible for taking the children to and from school, and when he was performing, Minhwan’s parents helped with childcare.

According to Lee Jin-ho, the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on their marriage. F.T. Island’s activities slowed down due to the pandemic, which negatively affected the family’s finances. Meanwhile, Yulhee became busier with her influencer activities, leading to increased tension. One day, Yulhee left home for four or five days, causing their conflicts to escalate further.

Lee Jin-ho admitted that he didn’t know why Yulhee left home. He initially thought their relationship had improved when she returned, but shortly after, news of their divorce broke.

Recently, Yulhee appeared on TV Chosun’s “All By Myself”, where she opened up about her feelings regarding the divorce, stating that she wasn’t the one who first brought up the topic. Reflecting on the early days of her marriage, she fondly recalled the happy memories and said, “If it weren’t for the children, I wonder if I would have ever laughed in my life.” She revealed that the crisis hit around their fourth year of marriage, and the divorce happened suddenly. Yulhee confessed that she endured a long period of pain before accepting the divorce, shedding tears as she spoke.

Lee Jin-ho explained that Yulhee gave up custody of the children due to “economic and practical reasons”, a decision made possible thanks to Choi Minhwan and his parents’ dedicated approach to childcare.

According to Lee Jin-ho, Choi Minhwan allowed flexible visitation rights, enabling the children to meet Yulhee freely. Additionally, Minhwan agreed to the divorce without asking for child support. Yulhee also waived her right to any division of assets.

Choi Minhwan and Yulhee married in 2018. They had one son and twin daughters but divorced in December last year after five years of marriage. Choi Minhwan, who has custody of the three children, is currently appearing on KBS2’s “The Return of Superman”, while Yulhee is sharing her life as a single person on “All By Myself”.
