Jessi is facing serious allegations for allegedly ignoring the assault of a minor fan by her associate, referred to as A, during an incident in Gangnam. Following the event, A’s personal details were leaked online, leading netizens to assert A’s affiliation with a triad based on social media posts and photos.
Attorney Son Soo-ho proposed hypotheses about why Jessi might have ignored the fan assault. He suggested, “First, it’s possible that neither Jessi nor producer Koala were aware of the incident. Second, being with a famous singer like Jessi might have led to an attempt to cover it up. Third, Jessi could know the assailant but be in a difficult position to disclose that.”
Additionally, the Koala producer who was with Jessi during the assault is also suspected of being a member of the Korean Outlaws, a Korean gang based in LA, due to a tattoo on his arm that reportedly abbreviates the gang’s name.
Jessi is accused of remaining passive when a minor fan, who requested a photo, was assaulted by her associate, A, in Apgujeong, Gangnam, on September 29. The victim reported the incident to the police shortly after it happened, and authorities later found Jessi’s party at a bar in Apgujeong, but they claimed not to know A.
Subsequently, Jessi, Koala producer, and two others were sued by the victim. On October 16, Jessi appeared at the Gangnam Police Station for questioning, stating, “I hope the person who hit the fan is found soon. I saw the assailant for the first time that day.”
However, photos of her with the Koala producer and a netizen’s claims of past assaults by Jessi and her friends have raised doubts about her honesty. In light of the controversy, Jessi has terminated her contract with her agency, DOD.
