The Divorce Insurance Episode 4 Recap
Right after the events of episode 3, Han-deul runs into an old acquaintance, Jeong-sin, and they go out to grab a bite while Ki-jun meets Uh-hyeong and admonishes him for not taking care of himself. He also blames him for not making any effort because if he had, then Jin-ju wouldn’t have left them. Their conversation indicates that his sister ended her life after being in a dead relationship and getting no support from Ki-jun. Thus, he implores him to live his life so that he can at least have him.
Meanwhile, Jeon-man runs into Na-rae at the laundromat and is immediately smitten by her. She destroys her teddy bear, trying to wash it in the washing machine, and he eventually helps her with the cleanup. It helps them grow closer to one another as they go out for a meal. Unfortunately, they witness a domestic violence incident that results in Jeon-man giving the store owner a policy. In the end, Na-rae ends up at Jeon-man’s place while Ki-jun bumps into Han-deul and goes out for coffee.

The two of them talk about their past marriages and share the things that they did wrong, and we get a glimpse into Ki-jun’s relationship with Na-rae. Elsewhere, Na-rae and Jeon-man also talk about her previous marriage, and she is shocked to learn about her ex-husband’s love for fishing. At the supermarket, Han-deul suddenly runs into her ex, who immediately starts to verbally abuse her. She is left frazzled at first, but eventually screams at him in frustration. When he tries to attack her further, Ki-jun swoops in and stops him. She later thanks him for standing up for her.
That night, we see someone sneakingly getting into the computer of someone on the divorce insurance team and going through the policies.

The next morning, the team discusses how to prevent policyholders from divorcing within 6 months of taking the policy. They go to different professionals, like astrologers and psychologists, to discuss the matter and come up with various ways to identify these people and prevent them from divorcing. However, in the midst of this, Ki-jun gets a call that asks him to come to the FSS because of policy violations that threaten to revoke the entire thing altogether.
The Divorce Insurance Episode 4 Review

With the quirky fun now slowly going down, The Divorce Insurance doesn’t feel like it has anything particularly eye-catching to offer. Somehow, it feels very forgettable and boring, with nothing of importance happening. With divorce being the keyword in everyone’s minds, I found some of the situations to be a bit forceful, and I am left to wonder why everyone is falling in love with everyone. It doesn’t feel organic, as if people are being forced to get together because it’s a show about divorces. Maybe I am being a bit too cynical, but the show doesn’t seem to have that oomph factor that will make our hearts race. Or maybe it’s just holding on to its cards very close to its chest.
