On November 1, Kim Min-ju met with Xports News to discuss her new film “Hear Me: Our Summer.” The movie captures the refreshing and heart-fluttering moments of Yong-joon (played by Hong Kyung), who dives headfirst into love, Yeo-reum (Noh Yoon-seo), who learns about sincerity, and Ga-eul (Kim Min-ju), who cheers them on.
Since her time as a member of IZ*ONE, Kim Min-ju has transitioned to acting, and “Hear Me: Our Summer” marks her debut on the big screen.
As an actress now, Kim Min-ju maintains a close bond with the other IZ*ONE members, who are also actively pursuing their individual paths. She shared, “On my days off, I spend nearly all my time with the members. We support each other a lot, catch up on what we missed, and recharge together.”
She added, “Our time together means so much to me, and it gives me strength. We’re there to support each other’s work. We’re still really close, cheering each other on.”
With IZ*ONE being a large group of 12, Kim Min-ju mentioned that the members she meets vary each time. “We’ll message in the group chat, asking, ‘Who’s free around this time?’ Some join after their schedules, and those who have a busy next day leave early. If everyone’s in Korea, we try to gather as many as possible.”
She described IZ*ONE as family, “In some ways, we talk even more than with family. They’re friends who cheer me on, so it feels comfortable. They’re family, and they’re the friends I met when I first entered society. We spent years together, so they’re very special.”
Kim Min-ju shared how the group’s natural and easygoing interactions make her feel at ease and cherish the friendships even more.
“I’m the type who follows along willingly. If a member suggests we meet up, I usually try to make it happen because I enjoy it, and I value our time together,” she said, smiling. “I don’t have a lot of friends, so I really want to stay close to the members and keep seeing them for a long time.”
Meanwhile, “Hear Me: Our Summer” will premiere on November 6.
