A Virtuous Business Episode 7 Recap
After Da-hyun saves Jeong-suk from Gyeong-sik’s alarming behavior and arrests him, the traumatic event leaves her shaken, though she hides her distress behind a brave facade. Da-hyun, determined to protect her reputation and prevent unnecessary gossip, files a case against Gyeong-sik and volunteers to be the primary witness, ensuring Jeong-suk’s name stays out of the town’s relentless rumor mill. Jeong-suk, anxious about her reputation and weary of becoming the subject of more town gossip, asks Da-hyun to keep the incident private. However, one of Da-hyun’s coworkers, seeking attention, shares an exaggerated version of the event with the local women, hinting that Da-hyun heroically saved someone without naming Jeong-suk.
The gossip spreads quickly, and the women soon deduce that Jeong-suk was involved. The next morning, Jeong-suk sets out to sell her products but is haunted by sudden glimpses of Gyeong-sik, which send her into a panic. As she rushes away in distress, Da-hyun finds her and reassures her with calm, supportive words. He hands her a copy of the case report, encouraging her to take control and fight for herself. That evening, as she sits at home reflecting on the scar on Da-hyun’s neck—earned in her defense—Jeong-suk realizes that the time has come to stand up for her own justice and dignity.
Word of the assault reaches Geum-hui and Young-bok, who rush to Jeong-suk’s house to comfort and support her. Their unwavering encouragement bolsters Jeong-suk’s resolve. That very night, Ju-ri goes to eat at a restaurant and spots, Dae-gum. The two are forced to sit together where they get drunk and exchange stories. Ju-ri goes along with Dae-gum who hides from seeing his grandma since he feels less successful. Seeing him cry, Ju-ri consoles and he kisses her.

The next day at Ju-ri’s salon, she notices the scar on her lips and blushes thinking about Dae-gum. Similarly, Dae-gum is seen jumping around in ecstasy. Later Geum-hui and Young-bok arrive at the salon, all prepared to storm the police station on Jeong-suk’s behalf, to confront anyone who might stand in her way. Just as they’re about to leave, Jeong-suk arrives with newfound determination. The four women, banded together, apply bold makeup as a symbol of their shared strength and solidarity before heading to the station.
At the station, Ju-ri demands that the officers take their testimonies seriously, dismissing the idea of listening to the local women who had spread gossip. To everyone’s surprise, Da-hyun informs them that the town’s women have actually sided with Jeong-suk, providing supportive testimony. This revelation leaves Jeong-suk stunned but grateful, realizing that the town’s women don’t dislike her—they were merely skeptical of her business at first.
When Gyeong-sik is brought out, he addresses the crowd with an air of arrogance and indifference. Seeing his nonchalant behavior stirs a surge of courage in Jeong-suk, and she steps forward, delivering a resolute thud to his head. The shocked silence quickly turns into a buzz of approval and support from the women present. Jeong-suk’s act of defiance becomes a moment of cathartic unity, and she and her friends share a moment of triumph and solidarity.
The next day, Young-bok stops by the pharmacy to pick up medicine for indigestion. When the pharmacist casually asks about a potential pregnancy, Young-bok is taken aback, suddenly realizing that she’s missed her period and beginning to worry about what this might mean. Meanwhile, a suspicious man arrives in town and approaches Young-bok’s husband, bringing up their past involvement in a criminal scheme and proposing a new plan. However, her husband, now committed to his family life, firmly declines, determined to leave his criminal past behind.
Jeong-suk and Da-hyun’s paths cross again as she approaches him with a bold request: she wants to help him in his search for his birth mother. Initially hesitant, Da-hyun declines, not wanting her to get too involved in his personal quest. But after seeing her resolve, he relents and allows her to assist. They spend the day sifting through documents at his home, piecing together clues about Da-hyun’s mysterious past.
That evening, Jeong-suk realizes she’s left her notepad behind and returns to Da-hyun’s place. She finds him asleep, restless and sweating as he writhes in the grip of a nightmare. Concerned, she watches until he jolts awake, panicked and disoriented. Seeing her there, Da-hyun’s fear dissolves into a moment of vulnerability as he pulls Jeong-suk into a tight embrace, releasing the tension and emotion he’s been holding back and allowing himself to cry in her comforting presence.
A Virtuous Business Episode 7 Review
This episode of the series masterfully balances intense emotional depth and moments of empowerment, showcasing Jeong-suk’s resilience and growth as she grapples with trauma and the complexities of public perception. The portrayal of her fear after the assault, coupled with Da-hyun’s unwavering support, brings a poignant depth to their evolving relationship. The narrative excels in blending suspense with camaraderie, especially when Jeong-suk and her friends, symbolically unified through makeup and solidarity, confront their fears and prejudices to stand up for justice. The surprising twist of the town women backing Jeong-suk adds a touching layer, revealing unexpected solidarity in her community.
On the other hand, the subplots skillfully enrich the main story. Young-bok’s sudden concern about a possible pregnancy and her husband’s decision to reject an old criminal acquaintance adds intrigue and hints at future complications. The episode also sheds light on Da-hyun’s vulnerability, painting him as more than just a rescuer but as someone haunted by his past, thereby deepening his character. The episode’s pacing is well-managed, mixing moments of tension, triumph, and personal revelation. Overall, it’s a powerful installment that furthers both Jeong-suk and Da-hyun’s arcs while leaving viewers eager for what’s next.
